Ferrule Securing Information Talurit Ferrules
Users with hydraulic & manual pressing tools & dies designed for fitting these items please refer to the PDF data sheets below. Users who wish to fit these items using alternative tooling please be advised as follows: Tecni-Cable Ltd accepts no responsibility for the incorrect termination of these fittings & we always recommend that load bearing assemblies are manufactured by a competent person who has had recognised training with these products. For optimum strength we recommend that plastic coating is removed from coated cables over the section that forms the eye to ensure a metal to metal contact for the ferrule & cable. When this is not acceptable the ferrule can be fitted over the plastic covering please select a ferrule of the same size as the coating or the next available size up if there is no exact match e.g. for a 6mm diameter coating select a code 6 ferrule. Assemblies where the ferrule is pressed onto the coating should never be used for any load bearing applications & are only suitable for decorative or security cable purposes. Aluminium ferrules are not designed for use with stainless steel cables due to the electrolytic reaction between the two materials in a saline (salt water) environment. Aluminium ferrules may be used with stainless steel cable in indoor light duty decorative & display applications where there is no possibility of salt water contact & no possible risk of injury should the load fail. Copper or stainless steel Talurit ferrules should always be used with stainless steel cable for any outdoor or load rated application. Please ask our advice if you have any reservations about the suitability of these or any product for your application.
